Bunyonyi Safari resort offers modern accommodation facilities in a countryside setting. Locally owned and operated, the resort gives you an opportunity to enjoy the local Ugandan life while enjoying the comfort of modern amenities.
Bunyonyi Safari Resort is located close to the gorilla parks in Rwanda and Uganda. It is located about 430kms from Kampala and about 127km from Kigali in Rwanda. From Kampala, the interesting drive through lush countryside takes about 7 hours. From Kigali in Rwanda, it takes less than 2 hours.
Accommodation is in form of cottages 12 bed occupancy and a main hotel complex with 92 bed occupancy and 2 luxury suites. All rooms are fully furnished and self-contained. Bunyonyi Safari Resort can comfortably accommodate more than 100 people on sharing basis.

The cuisines prepared are mostly African. They use organically grown fresh vegetables and fruits from the village. The safari Resort specializes in Cray fish from Lake Bunyonyi; however the chef can prepare most international dishes. Dinner is served at a campfire by the lake side. A local harpist is normally available to entertain you with local Rukiga ballads.
A walk to the hill top above Bunyonyi Safari Resort will take you to the Resort’s huge outdoor conference hall. The scenery here is breathtaking. Visitors can get a bird's eye view of the lake on a backdrop of the Muhavura volcanoes in the background. The terraced hills, the homesteads and the people as they work in their gardens are scenes you will enjoy at this vantage point. The hall has a bar, pool table, music and television. It is an ideal place for social gatherings, parties and recreation.

Jajama Panorama Resort.
Jajama Panorama is a superb new resort located on the shore of Lake Bunyonyi - an outstandingly beautiful mountain lake in south-west Uganda. Jajama is an ideal place to stay en route to seeing the world-famous mountain gorillas, being only about 50 miles from the Bwindi and Mgahinga National Parks and the Parc National des Volcans in neighboring Rwanda.
The Resort has comfortable, self-contained cottages built in traditional Ugandan style with king-size or twin single beds. Here visitors can enjoy wonderful views of the lake while relaxing with a drink either inside or in their own garden.
The Resort has a magnificent spacious restaurant at the highest point of Jajama with wonderful views of the Lake.
They provide a range of both local Ugandan and international dishes and cater for functions such as wedding receptions and conferences. Enjoy delicious local food such as crayfish from the lake, locally sourced meat and fresh vegetables grown on site. They also provide pizzas using locally produced cheese and ingredients. The Resort bar stocks a full range of Ugandan and international drinks.

Boat trips-Lake Bunyonyi is the most interesting lakes to explore, being of volcanic origin, the deepest in Uganda and having many islands. Jajama offers a variety of tours of the lake in a motor-boat, including a day trip to meet the Batwa pygmies, a hunter-gatherer tribe. For shorter trips, we also have traditional dug-out canoes for hire either for paddling oneself or with a guide.
Swimming is available from Jajama's shores and they have a jetty for sun worshippers. Lake Bunyonyi is unpolluted and bilharzia-free.
Hill climbing directly above Jajama is both good exercise and very rewarding in terms of the wonderful views. You can also expect a warm welcome from local people who live in these high places.
Bird Watching Lake Bunyonyi -meaning "place of small birds" in the local Rukiga language- is a bird watchers paradise.
Canoing Lake Bunyonyi .The shore at Jajama and nearby has extensive papyrus and reed marshes where a variety of birds including crested cranes, pelicans and kingfishers and other wildlife including otter, can be seen. Close to the shore, visitors are welcome to pitch their own tents and we have some double tents for hire.
